Using an unusual approach, Israel: A Home Movie documents the history of the country through a collection of video clips shot by private individuals between the ‘30s and the ‘70s.
The film was compiled using 8mm home movies and boxes of films from people’s basements and attics, and features voiceovers from the individuals and their relatives.
It depicts many domestic moments which lend the film a nostalgic air and captures historic events like the start of the Yom Kippur War.
Tom Brook speaks with the film’s producer, Arik Bernstein, who explains how the footage was collected and compiled. He also talks about the response to the film in Israel and the Arab world.

Moreover, democratic local governance creates, both institutionally and structurally, a supportive environment, mechanism and process for resolving conflicts at the local level. It is established that local dispute resolution has been an inherent and inalienable function of local governance institutions. It is exercised independently without being overtly dictated, influenced and determined by the changes in the realm of legal and constitutional framework.
The justice delivered by the court is beyond the reach of the ordinary people. Hence, it is inaccessible to the poor and indigent. And it is expensive and cumbersome. The huge backlog of cases shows that the formal judicial institutions are inefficient, strained and weighed down by the mounting arrears of cases. This has lent credence to an alternative dispute resolution mechanism as such a mechanism is less formal, easier and affordable to the ordinary populace. As a result, the alternative dispute resolution movement has become increasingly popular across the world.
Painful and unsightly, varicose veins affect around a third of people in the UK.
Traditional surgical treatment which strips out veins means having a general anaesthetic, staying in hospital overnight, followed by several weeks of recovery time.
Laser surgery is much less invasive and works by heat-sealing damaged veins from the inside. Patients can be back on their feet and return home the same day.

Whether you’ve woken up too late or have a last-minute party to primp for, you’re going to need these fast and fabulous make up tricks — little fixes that make a big impact.

1. Angelic eyes
The trick: Brighter eyes with one tool.
How: Work a little white eyeliner (preferably an iridescent white) onto the rim of the eye from the outside to the inner corner. It casts a glowing halo effect that is angelic.
2. Easy brow tweezing
The trick: Shape eyebrows for frame the face.
How: Using a slant tip tweezer, place the tweezers very close to the skin and swiftly pull the hair in the direction of the growth. Stand about a foot away from the mirror and alternate brows.
3. Wider eyes in one step
The trick: Eye flourish in a hurry.
How: If your time is tight, forget a complex eye make up look; swipe on two coats of mascara. Leaving your eyes mascara-free means your eyes have no frame and your look isn’t complete.
4. Speedy lips
The trick: Fast-track your pout with lip stain.
How: A stained look is much quicker to achieve than a fully made-up mouth. With a clean finger, pat lip stain into your lips so that the colour looks washed rather than opaque.
5. Shortest manicure
The trick: Gorgeous nails in 60 seconds flat.
How: Remove all polish, clean under your nails (with lemon juice, if you have it) and massage the thickest lotion you can find into your cuticles. Lip balm will suffice.
6. Pink lippy to fix flaws
The trick: For faking flawless skin.
How: To really perfect your complexion — no matter what your skin tone — wear lipstick in a warm pink. It distracts people’s eyes from blemishes and other imperfections.
7. Lipstick as a blush
The trick: Lipstick can double as a creamy textured blush.
How: Dab a clean finger onto lipstick and smile. Where the apples of your cheeks pop out blend on the colour, sweeping it up towards your temples.
8. Multi-purpose foundation
The trick: A hardworking make-up base.
How: Choose a mineral foundation for a covered yet natural finish; this means you can skip powder too. This type of base is great for all skin types, especially if you suffer from acne or have sensitive skin.
